   Identify Wear Pattern

   Remove segments and inspect. Classify the wear pattern: glazing (shiny flat surface), uneven wear (one side lower), rounding (edges worn), or segment loss (broken off).

   Normal wear: Even height reduction, exposed diamonds visible\nAbnormal: Any of the patterns below

   Diagnose Glazing

   Shiny, smooth surface with no visible diamonds. Cause: bond too hard for the concrete, or RPM too low. The matrix isnt wearing fast enough to expose new diamonds.

   Fix: Switch to softer bond\nOR increase RPM by 15-20%\nOR add more weight/pressure\nOR dress segments on abrasive block

   Diagnose Uneven Wear

   One side of segment significantly lower than other. Cause: machine not level, uneven weight distribution, or worn bearings.

   Fix: Level the machine\nCheck planetary gear alignment\nRotate segments 180 degrees\nInspect bearings for play

   Diagnose Premature Wear

   Segments wearing too fast (less than expected sqft/set). Cause: bond too soft for the concrete, RPM too high, or excessive pressure.

   Fix: Switch to harder bond\nOR reduce RPM by 15-20%\nOR reduce weight/pressure\nOR check if concrete is harder than tested

5. 5

   Diagnose Segment Loss

   Segments cracking or breaking off the plate. Cause: impact damage, thermal shock, manufacturing defect, or wrong application.

   Fix: Check for rebar/embedded objects\nAvoid cold starts on hot segments\nVerify segments rated for your application\nContact supplier for warranty if defect

6. 6

   Corrective Action

   Apply the fix identified above. Run test area (100 sqft) and re-inspect. Document the issue and solution for future reference.
