Google Indexing Monitor Workflow
Automated monitoring of your pages Google indexing status. Detects deindexed pages, tracks new page discovery, and alerts on coverage issues.
Steps
- 1
URL List Generation
Pull all published URLs from sitemap.xml or database. Compare against last known indexed list to identify new pages needing monitoring.
Source: Parse sitemap.xml\nFrequency: Daily at 6am\nStore: PostgreSQL url_index_status table
- 2
Index Status Check
For each URL, check Google indexing via site: operator search or Search Console API. Record: indexed/not-indexed/deindexed status.
Pro tip: Rate limit to 1 request per 2 seconds to avoid blocks. Batch 50 URLs per run.
- 3
Change Detection
Compare current status against previous check. Flag: newly indexed (good), newly deindexed (urgent), still not indexed after 7 days (warning).
- 4
Alert on Issues
If deindexed pages detected: send urgent email/Slack alert with affected URLs. If pages not indexed after 14 days: suggest resubmission.
Urgent: Deindexed page that was previously indexed\nWarning: New page not indexed after 7 days\nInfo: New page indexed (celebration)
- 5
Auto-Resubmit
For pages not indexed after 7 days, automatically resubmit via IndexNow API and Google Search Console URL Inspection API.
